Product Owner (Banking-Retail Banking, Scrum)

You’ll be working for a banking company who is looking for a Product Owner. This will be a 1-year contract to be based in Singapore.

Your new role

  • Engage all current and prospective users and clients, understand and anticipate their needs and translate into product requirement.
  • Engage cross functional teams in Technology, Credit, Compliance, Fraud Control, Finance, Product & Operations team to establish core framework and components of MVP.
  • Establishing a vision and strategic direction for the product and a roadmap for delivery of product capabilities.
  • Actively participate in vendor product or platform evaluation process and be work with all required stakeholders in obtaining a “buy” or “build” decision.
  • Onboarding the product or platform of vendor by working with Vendor Management teams.
  • End to End ownership of the product related product capabilities.
  • Identify the need for micro services and related APIs to fulfil a requirement.
  • Understand and implement industry compliance requirements on an ongoing basis.
  • Lead the SCRUM team as Product Owner.
  • Periodically review and refine product backlog and always keep it aligned with the MVP and its priorities.
  • Collaborate with team to define acceptance criteria and participate in agile meetings such as daily scrum, retro's and planning.
  • Asses the functional solutions, ensure comprehensive user acceptance testing.
  • Establish detailed processes and client journeys across selected platform partners.
  • Create and maintain product documentation.

What you'll need to succeed

  • 10+ years of experience with 4+ years product owner in development and implementation of core banking product system.
  • Experience in working on API based digital banking as a service product solution.
  • Strong understating and knowledge of retail banking products and ecosystem.
  • Strong understand and knowledge of payment cards industry standards and practices.
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in managing project documentation such as user stories and test scenarios.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders to drive project and business results.
  • Proficiency in use of collaboration and technical tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Postman, Figma.
  • Experience of managing external vendors and partners.
  • A meticulous and detail-oriented individual in defining scope, personas, epics, features, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • A challenger who is not afraid to question status-quo and takes the initiatives to resolve problems.
  • An independent, proactive and humble learner, who is open to seek and receive guidance/ feedbacks when needed.
  • A relationship builder who has good stakeholder management skills.
  • This role is open for Singaporean, Singapore PR and EP holder with notice period of max 1 month.
